Health & Safety Auditor

Steelmet offers corporate services such as: Strategic Development, International Business Operation, Sustainability, Non-ferrous Metal Purchasing, Resource Recovery & Central Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics, Operational Excellence, IT, HR, Communication, Financial and Auditing Services to the Viohalco Companies aiming to support them and drive best practices across the business segments.

The purpose of this role is to audit H&S legal compliance, policies and practices of manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

• • Conducts risk-based field inspections and Health & Safety audits across manufacturing sites, records findings using audit protocols, maintains audit documentation and uses standardized templates to present audit results.
  • Presents audit results to subsidiaries management team.
  • Performs data analysis on unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and incident investigation, audits findings in order to identify trends, root causes and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills

• • Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental)

• • At least 3 years of experience in conducting HS audits or performing HS coordinator duties in industrial sites
  • Working experience in Health and Safety Management Systems applied in industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of applicable National and European Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and technical standards
  • Knowledge of environmental management and environmental compliance will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex workplace relationships to ensure environmental and Occupational Health and Safety information can be obtained, analyzed and communicated to senior managers and other relevant stakeholders

• • Demonstrated experience in managing and conducting audit and assurance functions in an industrial Occupational Health and Safety focused organization
  • Influence continuous improvement in the culture and attitude of staff towards good health and safety management and cost effective use of natural resources.

• • English Language fluent user
  • Strong skills in computer operations and business systems including Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
  • Frequent travelling is expected.

• • Working knowledge of Intelex software will be considered an asset.

• • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certificate (preferred)
