A Transportation Specialist

Viexal S.A. is the exclusive in-house supply chain provider for a group of metals manufacturing companies that belong to Viohalco. With more than 30 years of experience, Viexal procures secondary raw materials, services, projects and equipment, spare parts and consumables. Also, organizes the efficient unimodal, intermodal or multimodal transportation (Road, Sea, Rail, Inland waterway, Air) of primary and secondary raw materials, spare parts, manufactured goods, ADR and project cargo.

The Transportation Specialist is a user of SAP Transportation Management system and conducts all duties of the logistics department.

Responsibilities

• Arrange shipment of goods by identifying most suitable transport carrier.
• Cooperate with all Supply Chain & Logistics departments of all Viohalco Companies
• Sets up and executes multimodal logistics projects for bulk shipments (cable drums, pipes, oversized cargo)
• Keeping transportation operations within budget without compromising efficiency.
• Execute RFQ/e auctions regarding land, sea, rail
• Ensure that transportation operations comply with laws, transport regulations, safety, environmental/risk management legislation & Corporate Policies.
• Maintain department files, reports, and key performance indicators (KPI’s) around carrier and transportation costs.
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers to meet cost, quality, and service requirements.
• Operate and support logistics systems, including ANITA, web applications, SAP ERP, and SAP TMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
• Master’s degree (MSc) in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Good knowledge of International Logistics market
• Sound knowledge of supply chain for metal products
• Excellent knowledge of the Transport Industry
• IT literate
• Good understanding of logistics management software (SAP, other)
• Very good negotiation & time management skills
• Excellent command of English
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
