a Segregation of Duties (SOD) Engineer

 

Viexal S.A. is the exclusive in-house supply chain provider for a group of metals manufacturing companies that belong to Viohalco. With more than 30 years of experience, Viexal procures secondary raw materials, services, projects and equipment, spare parts and consumables. Also, organizes the efficient unimodal, intermodal or multimodal transportation (Road, Sea, Rail, Inland waterway, Air) of primary and secondary raw materials, spare parts, manufactured goods, ADR and project cargo.

A Segregation of Duties (SoD) Engineer (sometimes called SoD Technical Analyst or SoD Engineer) is a technical and security-focused role responsible for implementing, automating, and maintaining the systems and controls that enforce segregation of duties across IT applications — particularly ERP and identity management platforms.

 

Responsibilities

  • IT applications Systems Configuration & Implementation
    • Configure SoD rulesets and risk matrices in systems like Sap Erp , SAP GRC Access Control, ServiceNow and other tools.
    • Integrate SoD analysis tools with Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms or ERP systems.
    • Automate provisioning workflows and SoD checks for user access requests.
  • SoD Rule Development & Maintenance
    • Translate business control requirements into technical SoD rules.
    • Build and maintain rule libraries that define incompatible roles and transactions.
    • Regularly update rulesets to reflect process or system changes.
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Develop automated reports for SoD violations and mitigations.
    • Create dashboards for compliance tracking and audit reporting.
    • Support remediation efforts by identifying root causes of conflicts.
  • Integration & Automation
    • Work with APIs, scripts, or connectors to synchronize data between IAM systems and ERPs.
    • Implement automated SoD checks during onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Audit & Compliance Support
    • Provide technical evidence and reports for internal/external audits.
    • Partner with auditors, compliance teams, and SoD administrators during reviews.

 

Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Technical Skills: SAP, SAP GRC, ServiceNow, Azure AD, Python, PowerShell, SQL, APIs, SQL Server, Oracle DB, HANA, SOX, ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, COSO.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Certification in SAP Security
    • CISA, CISM, or other audit/security certifications.
    • Experience in internal audit, IT security, or compliance functions.
