A Procurement Category Manager
Viexal S.A. is the exclusive in-house supply chain provider for a group of metals manufacturing companies that belong to Viohalco. With more than 30 years of experience, the Company procures secondary raw materials, services, projects and equipment, spare parts and consumables. Also, organizes the efficient unimodal, intermodal or multimodal transportation (Road, Sea, Rail, Inland waterway, Air) of primary and secondary raw materials, spare parts, manufactured goods, ADR and project cargo.
Viexal has recently engaged in an ambitious procurement transformation project.
The position holder, being part of this transformation, will be responsible for the whole supply life cycle and purchasing activities of selected Machinery, Industrial Services & Projects sub-categories.
The Procurement Category Manager expected to monitor market developments, prices, performance and total cost of ownership (TCO), and liaison with its peers within its Category & Corporate Procurement Dept and cooperate effectively Business Owners & Vendors
Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and implementation of Procurement Strategy for selected procurement categories.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities (based on TCO) in cooperation with internal customers & vendors.
- Lead Vendor selection, negotiation process, contract and life cycle management processes for Group-wide contracts and purchases.
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to develop expert-level market knowledge of selected material and services categories. Follow market developments and technological innovations.
- Manage a team of 1-3 Category Buyers
Qualifications
- BSc in Supply-Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business or Finance
- MBA or Post Graduate degree will be considered a plus.
- 6+ years of procurement experience in an industrial environment
- Work experience with procurement of projects, industrial services and machinery.
- Proficiency in ERPs & MS Office Suite.
- Fluency in English
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Sound knowledge of procurement best practices, policies and tools
- Track record of working well on cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- High energy and motivation, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
- Organizational skills.
- Experience in procurement transformation or transformation projects in general will be considered a plus.
