Environment Engineer

to join our team in Thessaloniki plant

Sidenor, is looking for a Plant Environment Engineer for its SIDENOR Plant in Thessaloniki. With 60 years of industry know-how and expertise Sidenor is the largest steel industry in Greece and constitutes the steel production and trading segment of Viohalco. Sidenor Group is a leading steel producer in Southeastern Europe with 4 production units in Greece, Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia.

As the Plant Environment Engineer, you will report to the Plant Environment Manager.

You will need to ensure compliance with environmental processes and enhance the Environmental Culture.

What you will need to do:

• Ensure compliance to Environment terms through audits, inspection and analysis of findings
•  Enhance Environmental culture on site
• Implement and develop Environment initiatives to comply with legislation and company standards
• Assist in the maintenance of the Environment & Energy Management System (ISO 14001 & ISO50001)
• Support the Plant Environment Manager in creating Environment procedures and instructions
• Monitoring the operation of the water treatment plant (water consumption and water balance, minimizing water consumption)
• Support the development and implementation of Environmental trainings
• Support and implement the company’s Electronic waste registration system

• Manage the transboundary waste transport process
• Management of environmental data on specialized platforms

What you need to possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or relative field
• 3 years of professional experience in Environment management in industrial environment would be considered an asset
• Health & Safety Culture
• Familiar with Environment Greek legislation and management system ISO 14001 & ISO50001
• Excellent Command of Greek & English Language
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
• Creative problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement attitude
• Excellent communication, cooperation, and organizational skills
