is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Numerical Analysis Team in our dynamic Engineering Department with expertise in High Voltage Engineering or Power Systems.
As a Numerical Analysis Design Engineer, your primary role will be to support the development of cutting-edge numerical models and methods to reduce costs during a tender or any other process (e.g., Project Implementation, Production process or Quality Control phase). Focus is made on the development of models related to Finite Element Method (FEM). You will actively participate in numerical and analytical modelling for thermal, electromagnetic, and fully coupled analyses, as well as assist in cable representation and database creation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop non-standardised models to address specific engineering challenges.
- Produce high-quality electromagnetic and thermal analyses using proper simulation packages, e.g., FEM electromagnetic and other relevant tools.
- Actively contribute to the design and implementation of tests to validate theoretical models.
- Collaborate on tests to assess the reliability of cable infrastructure, including failure modes and fracture mechanics.
- Identify common failure mechanisms affecting cable infrastructure, with a focus on meeting customer technical requirements.
- Provide technical support and consulting within the Cable Engineering Department and collaborate with the R&D Department.
- Offer technical support and consulting to other departments, including Quality Control and Production.
- Prioritise and manage projects according to the company's needs and goals.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliver results on time.
Qualifications:
- MSc degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, with expertise in High Voltage Engineering or Power Systems.
- Excellent proficiency in Finite Element Method (FEM) Simulation Commercially Available Programs (COMSOL, ANSYS, OPERA or else) and electrostatics or eddy-current analysis
- Very good Use of engineering programming languages, such as Matlab, MathCad, Python or else.
- 3+ years’ experience in numerical modelling and simulations.
- Excellent command of English.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer relationship management.
- Audit and monitoring.
