The Opportunity:

 

Hellenic Cables, a subsidiary of Cenergy Holdings, with over 70 years of cable manufacturing history is expanding its global footprint and constructing a brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility along the waterfront of Wagner’s Point in Baltimore.  This “green” facility, once construction is finalized, will produce highly engineered underground power and telecommunications cable to meet the ever-expanding needs for such products.  Once fully operational, this new factory will employ 200+ highly skilled production workers, engineers, and various supporting office roles.  This is a unique opportunity for a multi-talented business professional to become part of the leadership team responsible for bringing this newest addition to our global manufacturing business to life, and in managing the important HR and community relations aspects of the role into the future. 

 

 

Role Overview

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is a key plant leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of mechanical equipment used in cable manufacturing operations. This includes preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of extrusion lines, stranding machines, armoring lines, take-up/pay-off systems, and auxiliary equipment. This role reports to the Electrical & Automation Maintenance Manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team, fostering accountability and a strong safety culture
  • Drive reliability strategy through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
  • Manage the mechanical maintenance budget, balancing cost control with operational performance
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability initiatives to eliminate recurring equipment failures
  • Plan and execute capital and continuous improvement projects, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Planning to prioritize work and align maintenance with production goals
  • Utilize SAP PM (or similar CMMS) to manage work orders, planning, and performance tracking
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards; promote a zero-incident culture
  • Optimize spare parts strategy and inventory to improve equipment availability and control costs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, throughput, and overall plant performance
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and support long-term asset management strategies

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial/manufacturing environment, including team leadership is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems, equipment repair, and maintenance
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High integrity, accountability, and commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence
  • Experience with SAP PM (or similar CMMS - SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM, MP2, etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with CAD software and ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Experience with preventive maintenance planning, work order analysis, and spare parts management
  • Working knowledge of reliability tools (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) and RCA methodologies
  • Exposure to Lean, TPM, and OEE-driven performance environments is a plus
  • Basic understanding of PLC/HMI systems preferred
  • Experience managing vendors and contractors, including negotiations and performance oversight
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and urgency

SALARY PAY RANGE: $85,000 - $125,000 plus bonus

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following date of hire, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
