HELLENIC CABLES S.A.
is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Corinth that focuses on the production of high and extra high voltage submarine cables.
The Laboratory Engineer is responsible for designing, performing, implementing and monitoring electrical, mechanical and/or chemical tests to ensure compliance with customer specifications, international standards and quality requirements. The role supports the identification of technical issues, the implementation of corrective actions and the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and quality outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and perform electrical and non-electrical tests in line with approved procedures, quality standards and technical specifications.
- Analyze test results and prepare accurate technical reports and certificates.
- Coordinate daily laboratory activities to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of testing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements, internal procedures and applicable operating standards.
- Prepare and implement test plans, control methodologies and quality evaluation criteria.
- Investigate, analyze and troubleshoot technical issues and deviations identified during testing.
- Define and monitor corrective actions to resolve malfunctions and improve system and product performance.
- Monitor development and production stages to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance and availability of laboratory equipment, supporting measurement reliability and operational efficiency.
- Support the planning of laboratory activities to avoid delays in testing and production processes.
- Support certification audits, external inspections and customer assessments by providing technical data, test results and relevant documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve test methods, laboratory procedures and data reliability, contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory performance and service quality.
- Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory personnel to strengthen technical skills, ensure proper application of testing procedures and promote a culture of quality and safety.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic school
- Previous experience in laboratory testing, quality control, quality assurance or production will be considered an asset.
- Experience in the cable industry will be considered an advantage.
- Very good command of English.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of MS Project, ERP or SAP systems will be considered an asset.
